Executive Officers

President:

        Austin O'Grady

Vice-President:

John Wendling

I am a second year Embry-Riddle student majoring in Aerospace Engineering. I joined ERPL my first year because rocketry is something I have always been interested in but have not had much experience with. During my first year I headed the ERPL Plasma start up group which was dedicated to researching the alternative propulsion method known as a plasma thruster. Although I had to step down from this position near the end of my second semester due to my schedule, I hope to be back with them this coming year. As for me personally, I find my major to be equal parts fascinating and frustrating, I enjoy science fiction books, video games and hiking, I play guitar terribly (not an exaggeration), I can’t stand having a roommate, I own a motorcycle, I run for exercise, I don’t drink, I hate having too much to do but I get bored easily when I have time off, and I hope to travel to space one day .

Treasurer:

Kristopher Gaffey

Kris is currently a sophomore in Aerospace Engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU). As a freshman, he joined Experimental Rocket Propulsion Labs (ERPL) to gain knowledge and experience with rocket technology. Kris built and launched his own rocket which reached an altitude of approximately 3,800 feet and received his level-one high power certification. In addition, he has provided a lot of help in the construction of an acrylic water bath . Its purpose is to stabilize the temperature of ERPL’s Nitrous tank for their hybrid rocket motor. He was a member of the Hybrids team his freshman year where he worked on the Hydrus rocket motor. During the second semester of his freshman year, he became the treasurer of ERPL and has remained treasurer since.
